About FIRST:
For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is an international youth organization that operates the FIRST Robotics Competition.Founded by Dean Kamen and Woodie Flowers in 1989, its expressed goal is to develop ways to inspire students in engineering and technology fields. Its philosophy is expressed by the organization as Coopertition and Gracious Professionalism.
2017 Season:
The 2017 season was unique. The team participated in 3 regional competitions and the world championship. It was the first time we won a regional competition and we made it to the finals in the other two competitions. My job on the team was to develop a climbing method for the robot, so it could climb a rope. I was also a driver and pits engineer during competition.
2018 Season:
The 2018 season was the best season that the team has ever had. In this season we won a regional competition, reached the finals in another one, and for the first time in history, a Latin-American team reached the semifinals in the world championship. That season I was the strategy captain and helped develop the climbing system so the robot could climb a bar carrying 2 other robots.
